False Profit (1 of 2)

In the past couple of months, two separate times, I have ALMOST paid up to $2,000 for an "expert class." 

By the skin of my teeth I stopped myself. Something inside said this isn't right...

1st school was B School by Marie Forleo. I googled my tail off for days and finally found a bad review. 

(Always a red flag when there are NO bad reviews for someone.)

Turns out there was an old Wordpress  website addressing the topic. 

Years of comments to follow...

Describing the short comings of the school and their experiences...

The creator of the website had died and people kept posting bc it was the only outlet they had!

Yikes.

I read through every single comment and realized Marie Forleo's B School was just NOT for me.  

But...

There was a hook that Marie kept talking about, the fear of Social media. 

It whispered to me...

Then SHOUTED! 

I have this fear real hard!!! 

& I need to get over it!!!

NOW!!!

Hmm...

Was I willing to pay $2,000 to conquer that fear?!

Turned out, No I wouldn't. 

Got me thinking and asking myself: What exactly was I hoping to gain from the class?

-online success

-hope to feel more comfy online

-Inspiration 

-guidance

-Timeline of checklist of what to do in what order for business success 

-something to do...

-feel a sense of accomplishment

-when I'm in school I feel like I am DOing something ("Poor Dad" thinking.) 

-distraction 

-somewhere to be for 8 weeks

***Big thing was helping me with my social media fears. 

I thought Marie was the answer to what I needed to begin a kick ass online business. 

I wanted a mentor to help me through it. 

I wanted EZ. 

Turns out after much reflection...

What I wanted from Marie Forleo was...

Help to save myself. 

False Profits.

Needless to say...

I shouldn't be looking outside of myself for myself. 

I need to feel good inside then I'll be able to rock it! In ANY "B"usiness

Um...

& why would I go to a "B" School when I HAVE a Business School degree?!?!

Today, are you shopping for answers?!? At what cost?!?!

Looking to false Prophets for advice on Profit?!!  

Hmm...

It's beautiful that we are searching for answers and want to continue learning. Just have to make sure it's the right teacher.
